Veterans receive assistance with their medications
Veterans receiving Dose Administration Aids such as Webster packs can now receive them at no cost under a the new Dose Administration Aid (DAA) service from the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA). In areas where there is difficulty for the patient to access an accredited pharmacists or the Home Medicines Review (HMR) service the need to have a HMR to assess suitability prior to initiating the service is now not mandatory, but is 'strongly recommended. Also the DVA has now dropped the need for the one month trial period before a 6mth script can be issued. For information on how to organise DAA packs for your veterans please refer to information in our Resources section for Home Medicines Reviews.
