About Us
Brisbane South Division of General Practice (BSDGP) is an accredited
non-profit membership organisation which aims to enhance and support
general practice in providing quality care to the community.
BSDGP was founded in November 1993. The focus of the Division is on the
development of sustainable programs that make continuous small steps
towards better health outcomes for the local residents and better business
outcomes for general practice.
BSDGP provides support to 84 practices and 296 GPs in a 240km² area
spanning 18 postcodes and 49 suburbs in the south west of Brisbane .
BSDGP is part of a network of a national network of divisions which is
comprised of 119 Divisions of General Practice, 7 State Based Organisations
and the Australian General Practice Network.
The Division has provides high quality education and training programs to its
members within a strong practice focused framework. This is clearly reflected
through the Division's Strategic Vision.

Brisbane South Division has formed strong partnerships with hospital and
community health services, local government and other government and non
government organisations.
BSDGP is primarily funded by the Australian Government Department of
Health and Ageing. Other funding sources include Queensland Health, private
health organisations and other community and government initiatives.
